| 1 | How long does it take to create my song? |
In most cases it should take between 1 to 3 weeks. In cases where we may need more time to do a great job we may need an extra week. |
| 2 | Should I register/copyright my poem before you add the music to it? |
Yes, we highly recommend it. We can recommend entertainment attorneys that specialize in copyrighting creative works. Simply contact us for details or try this 25 year music industry veteran attorney if you just can't wait to get started. |
| 3 | Do I pay before or after the song is written? |
Since we have hard costs for the process of creating the demo, you will have to pay before. |
| 4 | If I write the words & you write the music who owns the song? |
We own the music and you will always own your words. |
| 5 | Can this song be released on the radio? |
Releasing a song on the radio is a complicated process that is beyond the scope of what we do but we do have a highly skilled music industry advisor we can recommend to you for help with these types of matters. |
| 6 | Please explain 'arrangement types.' |
We offer four different types of arrangement types. The first two are very simple piano/voice and guitar/voice demos. This would sound as if one person was playing the guitar and singing or playing the piano and singing at the same time. The third type would be a 'Band' arrangement in which you will have the equivalent of a guitar player, bass player, drummer, keyboard player and singer performing the song. Finally... The 'Master' arrangement would be everything the in 'Band' arrangement plus the extra professional touches like string arrangements, background vocal arrangements, bells, chimes, percussion, etc. Essentially, what you would hear in a record released on the radio. (IMPORTANT NOTE - Not all of the musical elements described in 'Master' arrangements (i.e string arrangements, background vocal arrangements, bells, chimes, percussion) will be included in each song arrangement. These musical accents will be used as needed as determined by the Poems2Songs writer.) |
| 7 | Can I release my own record from these demos? |
The quality of the 'Master' arrangements is definitely good enough to be played on the air. The trick is to find a radio station willing to believe in your song enough to do it. Any song/arrangement will always have people that love it and that hate it. Radio stations look at the entire packaging of the song AND artist. If they like your words they will offer to 'test' the song. If they are not sure they will say anything to get you to go away. Again we have advisors that can help you deal with these issues. |
| 8 | Is there someone that can advise me how to get started in the music business? |
As we've mentioned several times in this FAQ we do know many professionals in this industry that are available to consult you in career development. All you need to do is contact us for their contact information |
| 9 | What if my poem does not fit with any possible melody? What then? |
We have people that can work with you on the process of writing words that lend themselves to adaptation with music more easily. Again... Just communicate with us for the referrals. |
| 10 | What if I hate the melody? |
If you hate the melody you have two options. First... We can modify the melody for you one time after some more clarification as to what you like and what you hate about the melody. Second... We can refund 100% of your money. Every Poems2Songs customer that requests a refund will be able to do so, but only once. |
